Gil Chapin is currently the AEC for Public Information. He was first licensed in 1974 as WN2UTI in Rochester, NY where he was then living and working. In 1975 he upgraded to his present call and Advanced license class status. Having made many Heathkits as a youngster and then having served as a radar maintenance repairman in the Air Force, he went on to college and received bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University. His first and only "real" job after college was with the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY, where he started out as a design engineer on some government contract projects and then moved on to be a product safety engineer for the majority of his nearly 32 year stay with Kodak. He is presently retired and living in Orlando with his wife, Valerie, N2FCD.
