Larry Monroe - N2HBX

Larry is currently serving as AEC Technical for Orange County Communications Auxiliary in Florida.

Originally licensed as KA2JAV in Buffalo, NY in 1979. Moved to Orlando in 1989.

While in NY, Larry was a member of the Amateur Radio Association of the Tonawandas (ARATS), serving for a time as the editor of the club newsletter, The Coherer, and served a term on the club's board of directors. He also spent 10 years as a volunteer fireman, first with Columbia Hook and Ladder Co. in North Tonawanda, NY, then with the Rapids Volunteer Fire Co. in Lockport, NY.

Currently, Larry is a Field Service Specialist with Wireless Technology Equipment Co., a Motorola MSS. He holds CET-Sr (Senior Certified Electronics Technician) and CSS (Customer Service Specialist) certifications.

As a certified "radio nut", Larry is also licensed as a GMRS operator (WQDM-935) and is an avid (rabid?) scanner monitor (particularly FD comms) and sometime SWL.

Besides radio, Larry's interests include collecting miniature lighthouses, railroads and railfanning, and WW II history.
