Field Day 2010

This years Field Day will be a unified operation with Osceola County ARES, on June 26th and 27th.
It will be held at the new Osceola County EOC, on Partin Settlement Road, between Kissimmee and Saint Cloud.

You can take the Florida Turnpike to US 192 / US 441, and the EOC is only about a mile away. You can also take Boggy Creek Road to Simpson Road, if you prefer to avoid tolls, and it is only about a mile farther Southeast on US 192 / US 441 to the EOC. Another non toll option would be to take US 17-92 / US 441 (Orange Blossom Trail) to US 192 / US 441 in Kissimmee, and travel Southeast to the EOC. You can also take Narcoossee Road to Saint Cloud, and travel Northwest to the EOC. There are also many other possible routes, depending upon where you are coming from.

At the intersection of US 192 / US 441 and Partin Settlement Road, turn East on Partin Settlement Road and travel past the entrances to the to the Osceola County Property Appraisers Office. Turn Right at the next road and follow it back to the EOC. There is a sign on Partin Settlement Road that directs you where to turn for the EOC.

Here is a link to a web page that allows you to input a starting address, for custom directions to the Osceola County EOC.

And here is a link to a static map showing the location of the Osceola County EOC, if you are already familiar with that area between Kissimmee and Saint Cloud.

So far, the only aerial imagery that has been found on the internet is this image (external link) of the facility while it was under construction last year. The two larger buildings on the lower right, near the Florida Turnpike, with the white tops, are EOC buildings. The one closest to the Turnpike is the main EOC building, and the one just to the left of it is the parking garage.

The Osceola County EOC is easy to travel to, and there is parking that we can use which does not require any special credentials.

Talk in will be on the 145.350 repeater (- 600Khz offset, CTCSS tone 103.5).

Field Day stations will be in operation both Saturday and Sunday, however it will not be a 24 hour operation. We will plan on wrapping up Saturday operations no later than 22:00.
